BOOZY PISTACHIO AFFOGATO

an affogato, but make it boozy, nutty, and downright perfect. we start with a scoop of Van Leeuwen's coffee affogato ice cream, drown it in a chilled (& shaken!) Tip Top Espresso Martini, and finish with a generous spoon of Pistakio's Creamy pistachio spread. the pistachio melds with the coffee and martini, deepening the sweetness, rounding the bitterness, and adding a rich, nutty finish that turns this simple Italian classic into a show-stopping grown-up dessert.

 

 

ingredients:

 

 

  • 2-3 tbsp Pistakio Creamy Pistachio Spread

  • 1 can of Tip Top Espresso Martini

  • 2 scoops of Van Leeuwen Coffee Affogato ice cream (or opt for Vanilla/Fior Di Latte)

  • a handful of finely chopped or ground pistachios, for topping

 

 

instructions:

 

 

  • optional: to rim the glass, pour pistachio spread onto a shallow plate and dip the rim, then press it into a separate plate of finely chopped pistachios.

  • use the back of a spoon to swirl more pistachio spread along the sides of the glass for extra flavor.

  • add two scoops of Van Leeuwen coffee affogato ice cream (or vanilla/fior di latte) to the prepared glass.

  • fill a cocktail shaker with ice, pour in the Tip Top Espresso Martini, and shake for a few seconds until well chilled.

  • slowly pour the martini over the ice cream.

  • finish with a drizzle of Creamy Pistakio Spread and a sprinkle of chopped pistachios.

  • serve immediately with a spoon and enjoy!
